The Roswell Farmers Market is seeking a highly organized, warm, and proactive Market Manager to oversee weekly operations and vendor coordination. This role is essential to ensuring the market runs smoothly and continues to serve as a vibrant gathering place for our community.

This is both an administrative and hands-on operational role. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, loves supporting local farmers and makers, and takes pride in executing details with excellence.

Schedule & Compensation

  • $25 per hour

  • Approximately 15 hours per week

  • Saturdays required from 6:00am–1:00pm

  • Approximately 8 hours of administrative coordination during the week

  • Must be available for the full market season

  • Up to two pre-approved Saturday absences permitted per season

Role Overview

The Market Manager serves as the primary operational lead for the weekly market and the main point of contact for vendors throughout the season. This role requires a balance of logistics, financial organization, communication, physical setup, and hospitality.

The Market Manager works independently, manages details week-to-week, and ensures consistency and professionalism across all vendor and community interactions.

Key Responsibilities

Weekly Vendor & Administrative Management

  • Create and issue weekly vendor invoices

  • Track, collect, and reconcile vendor payments

  • Maintain organized vendor records and attendance tracking

  • Export and confirm weekly vendor participation lists

  • Create and manage the weekly market map and vendor placement

  • Ensure vendor locations remain consistent throughout the season

  • Update the weekly vendor list on the market website

  • Respond to vendor emails in a timely and professional manner

  • Manage market phone communications, including early morning vendor calls when necessary

  • Maintain accurate documentation of logistics and communications

  • Use spreadsheets and digital tools to track payments, placement, and attendance

Saturday Market Operations

  • Arrive early to oversee setup and vendor load-in

  • Physically assist with unloading and setting up tents, tables, signage, and equipment

  • Ensure vendors are placed correctly according to the weekly map

  • Answer vendor and customer questions throughout the morning

  • Make real-time decisions and troubleshoot issues calmly and professionally

  • Oversee breakdown, equipment storage, and site cleanliness

  • Assist with light trash removal and end-of-day organization

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

  • Loves farmers markets and supporting local farmers and makers

  • Is extremely detail-oriented and highly organized

  • Can retain and manage logistical information week-to-week

  • Is comfortable managing payments, invoices, and basic bookkeeping tasks

  • Is proficient with spreadsheets and basic website updates

  • Communicates clearly and professionally via phone and email

  • Works well independently without constant oversight

  • Maintains a warm, positive, and calm presence under pressure

  • Is physically able to lift and move tents, tables, and equipment

  • Is dependable and committed to the full market season

Experience in event operations, bookkeeping, hospitality, or community programming is helpful but not required.
